A Day on the Town Part 1.

It's Sunday morning.  My New York Times arrives and I'm out the door to grab a coffee.

I had a few places in mind that I wanted to photograph, but on my way, I swung by CK Bikes which is small bike shop located underneath the old general store in the center of Harvard.  I've  never been there before, but I've been meaning to stop in for a while now.  What started as a few questions about some replacement parts for my own bike lead to a few photographs as a woman rides up on her bike.

"I was wondering if you could take a look at my bike." The woman say's

Craig Kilmer, the owner and wrench of CK bikes pauses as if it may be a bit until he can get to it, but more than happy to do so.

"Okay.  I just fell on the bike path and now it's doing something funny, that's all."

Craig stops "Are you okay??"

On her elbow and leg are a couple decent sized cuts.  Craig offers her some water to help clean the wounds.  The woman politely says no, she's all set, but Craig grabs it anyways.  Seconds later, her bike is on the mechanic stand.

Craig winds the crank to asses the damage.

The woman looks on with her scarred elbow as Craig dig's in deeper to diagnose the issue.

"Your rear chain ring has a few scrapped teeth." Craig says.

Pointing to the issue as the woman looks on.

Craig does a little adjusting, helps tune up the bike again so she can get back on the road with her riding partner who waits near-by.

The customers stand by as Craig does it's final tune-up.

This was over within minutes.  The couple stuck around and chatted for a few as I went on my way.  This is certainly a place where I will be doing business from here on out.

Looking back as he double checks his work.
